THE NUMBERS & ANALYSIS

Only 24 days since last testing and cleaning the Honeywell HEPA filter, the particulate pile still comes in at a whopping 79% over background. This is of special note because the only precipitation at Radiation Station during those three weeks was June Gloom. We’ve picked up heightened radiation in June Gloom precipitate before but the surprise here was to find measurably higher radiation in particulate matter captured by the HEPA inside the building. This suggests that these atomic particles may not need rain, fog or snow to infuse the air with heightened radiation in the Greater Los Angeles Basin and in drier areas of the Southwest.

These measurements have been preceded by other significant radiation findings in Los Angeles and Santa Monica. Here are some of them:

7/19/11
5:50 pm 10-minute INTERIOR average of HONEYWELL HEPA FILTER AGGREGATE FROM 6/26/11 = 24 DAYS OF USE IN RADIATION STATION: 66.3 CPM which is 79% HIGHER THAN PREVIOUS INTERIOR BACKGROUND

  1. YES you are correct as what I remember most have been from the south/southwest to north/northeast.I have taken note of that on earlier readings.Must have been a senior moment.I should have realized that so Thanks for the reminder

  2. @jg: It is noteworthy that the North Carolina cpm has been reduced, and Tokyo and other areas in Japan have recently risen, so I suspect there has been a change in the direction of the wind current during a particularly high radioactive release…?? Just a thought…

  3. Hello….Updates….I find this strange. For the past 6 weeks or so my Inspector+ tests on rainshowers here in [North Carolina] have decreased in CPM…Testing about 7 rainshowers have averaged about 1 3/4-2 1/2 times above average of 33.0 CPM. It’s almost as if someone realized “the backdoor was fully opened and has shut it almost all the way” ! Any comments on this?

  4. I just updated my YouTube videos to reflect the last recorded results on 8/21/11….Use a Slideshow for best results @…jgrayovski on Youtube. No rain since that date.

  5. Chase,
Just spent a few hours on Youtube putting on the first clips I recorded. Still need to go back and add comments. Go to ….jgrayovski…..and start with the lowest number as tests are in a sequence.

  6. @biggee Thanks!

The youtube download is not hard.

    1. Create a Free youtube user name. It sets you up with a page or channel they call it.

    2. Then, at the top of your channel/page it will say ‘Downloads’ – Click that and point to the your video file. Takes a couple of minutes with a good internet connection.

Youtube handles most video file extension types. Once you have the user channel, the rest is fairly automatic.

My channel, which is dedicated to mostly music, is http://www.youtube.com/user/iamsavant

Once your channel is setup if you have questions you can contact me via my youtube channel’s ‘send message’ feature. It’s like email, but just for youtube. Then we can exchange regular emails or phone numbers. I’m 53, very patient and computer savy. More than happy to assist you.

  7. Chase
Haven’t put them on Utube yet as I don’t know how to do that. Will attempt asap…I’m 66 and not that computer savvy. Is it easy to do?? Most are short clips 30 sec to a few minutes. I took the beginning/middle and end results so there are 3 clips for each test result. (IF) when I’m able to do this I will update it here.

  8. @biggee What is your youtube channel?

I looked. But, maybe I’m just not seeing the link.

Your readings from NC are very important in my opinion. I feel it’s ‘highly probable’ that readings will go up yet again in the near future.

    btw – thanks!

  9. Updates from Harrisburg NC….All are 10 min Total timer divided by 10 for CPM [detected by an Inspector nuclear radiation monitor – Editor]… #1 is napkin sample and #2 is sample flipped over. All are from rain showers. Been very busy but will try to put these tests on YouTube to verify:

  10. IF possible maybe a RAIN REPORT section can be put on this website for findings in USA/CANADA so as NOT to be buried in older news as these reports??

    #2.319.3 CPM at 7:40pm
then walked outside to car and checked front window/moonroof at CPR and got 210CPM and 192CPM

  13. Hello again from Harrisburg NC.On 8/5 a double test of 3 storms were recorded using INSPECTOR 10 min Total count (see below for details on how tests are taken…Perhaps a special section could be put on this website for reporting rainshowers across the USA/Canada???
    1st sprinkle 12:30am

  14. Hello again. Here is SHORT CPM report of 2 thunder showers today earlier this afternoon. I tried to email a longer report earlier but upon sending my PC locked up and on restarting it looks like I lost the info….sooo….Here is a short report. See below as to HOW/WHAT I take/test samples 1st CPM of sample 2nd CPM is FLIPPED OVER napkin sample.

    1st shower
    200.7 CPM======179.7 CPM

    2nd shower following the other
154.1CPM======218.2 CPM napkin sample flipped over

  15. @ biggee, You have a fine detector which will enable you to detect alpha, beta and gamma readings.

You already know the basics, it seems, on differentiating the types of radiation. Careful, you are working with unknown samples. I’m sure you know they can be dangerous, but it’s easy to get too casual with them. I don’t know your level of expertise, but I would worry about that sample hitting 1000 – 1200 CPM. Using gloves, and an N95 mask is a must. And I would wash any wet clothing if exposed to hot rain like that.

It is possible to get some rough estimates of the energy levels present. You can do things like insert different thicknesses of aluminum foil between the sample and the detector. If gamma is present, you can use thicknesses of steel and lead to gauge relative energies. But, remember, you don’t have a pure sample, you can’t identify specific isotopes.

If your study of the sample can span a week or two, you might see some short half life isotopes “burn off”. If you keep the sample that long, put it in a plastic bag.

And, remember, some of the daughter progeny are radioactive gases. When you open the plastic bag, those gases will come out. Don’t breathe them in, so it’s best to work outdoors.

Good Luck, and enjoy that Inspector +. I envy you as I am still waiting to get my detector.

  16. Hello again….Been hot/humid/gray overcast today.A light to moderate 20 min rainshower started around 2;50pm.Collected rainwater on double folded napkin off car windshield..ALL tests here with INSPECTOR+ 10 min TOTAL TIMER.I made 4 tests from 3:15 to 3:40 PM
    1st off car windshield…..333.2 CPM
    2nd Flipped over napkin…..342.0 CPM
I went out to car for a NEW sample from drops left on car body as most have evaporated by now
    3rd..258.6CPM
    4th ..flipped over napkin…241.2 CPM
At the end I put a piece of paper between detector/sample and the TICKS slowed down only a slight bit
Then I put the INSPECTOR wipe test plate in place and TICS were very sparce AND I moved testor away and it seemed to be the same….meaning MINIMAL gamma as the test plate blocks alpha/beta..Correct me if Im wrong
Measuring just the rainwater seems useless You MUST take a sample on a napkin ASAP after rain and put INSPECTOR AS CLOSE AS POSSIBLE without touching or contaminating it with samples
Will continue to update rainshowers here in Harrisburg NC

  17. Hello…Im in Harrisburg North Carolina. Received my NEW INSPECTOR+ & started taking readings inside/some outside my home on 5/24/11…and some RAIN samples with VERY HIGH readings.

I use the 10 min TOTAL TIMER readings then divide by 10 for CPM. Average inside reading about 34CPM…On 7/2 tested small area house intake filter (forced air heat) for 116.9 CPM.

Filter put in NEW 6/29…..Next RAIN SHOWER readings with napkin off SAME car windshield ALL samples…..6/28—186.4 CPM

    7/4 two separate tests/2 rain showers app. 15 min later= 1227.0 CPM… 2nd shower new test 1047.0 CPM

    7/7 – 211.0 CPM

    7/13 3 tests = 294.8 CPM–2nd 284.5 CPM then 3rd 1hr-25 min later 2nd shower = 185.6CPM THEN I flipped over napkin to opposite side and got 233.9 CPM

I have since discovered that my 7/4 readings [were taken at] the same time there was a 100 gal leak @ V C SUMMER nuclear plant in South Carolina just about 2 1/2 hrs SW of me. THEY said spill NO PROBLEMS as usual. I remembered watching the thunderstorms come in from the southwest (where THIS plant is!!!) so my question is WERE these HIGH LEVELS from V C SUMMER AND COVERED UP??? or FUKASHIMA?? COINCIDENCE OR WHAT????

  18. The Honeywell HEPA is pulling radioactive particles out the air and protects you and your wife from inhaling them. Of course, it would be better if those particles weren’t there in the first place, but everyone needs to understand that they ARE there. And, those particles are very dangerous. Once inside you, they will cling to your lung tissue and irradiate you for a very long time. If you don’t want to be irradiated from the inside out, possibly leading to cancers or DNA damage, install a HEPA filter to protect yourself and your loved ones, as Michael has done, and many of us at Radiation Nation have done. Thank you, Michael, for showing us the way.
